Why Work For Us

Grubhub is a place where authentically fun culture meets innovation and teamwork. We believe in empowering people and opening doors for new opportunities. If you’re looking for a place that values strong relationships, embraces diverse ideas–all while having fun together–Grubhub is the place for you!

About You: You believe design is a verb, not a deliverable. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer experienced in advocating for the user despite business and technical constraints. This will require you to both understand the problem you are solving while being mindful of the larger business goals. You know (as much as you might fight it) the constraints of technology are just as important as their promise because it’s in the constraints we find our best ideas. You’re someone who sees patterns in the chaos and knows how to translate those patterns into tools for the design team. You know there’s a time for going wide, a time for going deep, and understand how to bring the product teams you work with through both stages. You are a thinker, a maker, and a passionate advocate for the Minimum Delightful Product approach to the mantra of “move fast and ship it."

The Impact You Will Make

  • Leverage your UX expertise and understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro-interactions can help users complete a task
  • Advocate for our diners and delivery drivers with the product, engineering, and design teams
  • Turn nebulous concepts to specific ideas that are useful and delightful product features
  • Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and beautiful and drive consensus
  • Lead high-level project work from a design perspective with autonomy and authority, facilitating design studios and working sessions to help the teams deliver the best possible solutions
  • Understand how to best use the current design system to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to it’s continuous improvement
  • Draw insights from the work of our talented research and data teams and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions
  • Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, marketing and other members of the design and research teams to oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch
  • Be a positive role model and culture carrier within the studio as well as an advocate for design within the GH organization
