About The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer II in Restaurant Integrations, you will be responsible for architecting, building, maintaining, and monitoring the services responsible for streamlining restaurant POS order processing, location onboarding,and menu management. These services will be written in Python using AWS Lambda. 

 

Please note that this role will be a hybrid position, with the expectation that the employee will physically sit 2-3 days per week in one of our main technology hubs: New York, Boston, or Chicago. *Dependent upon CDC and local government mandates*

The Impact You Will Make

 

  • Aid an existing team transitioning from Ruby to Python.
  • Implement features, tools & processes to enable our platform to be highly-available, fault-tolerant, and support the team’s engineering and operational excellence goals.
  • Implement & enhance existing and new features to help import restaurant data.
  • Collaborate with leadership, product owners, and technology staff to deliver new functionality.
  • Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices, and new technologies. We are always improving the process of building software; you will have an impactful contribution.

What You Bring to the Table

 

  • 3+ years experience building highly-scalable, consumer-facing applications
  • Python experience mandatory
  • Experience developing & consuming Restful APIs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Programming, or Engineering related field preferred
  • Knowledge of, or experience with developing distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda)
  • Familiarity with eventually consistent databases (Cassandra/MongoDB/CouchDB)
  • Familiarity or experience developing highly-available systems (5x9’s uptime etc.)
  • Familiarity with Ruby or Java
  • Familiarity in working with containerized environments
