The Impact You Will Make

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of Grubhub’s leave and disability programs. 



  • Serve as primary liaison for employee leave questions.
  • Provide guidance and policy information to employees around taking leave and eligibility.
  • Collaborate with and provide coaching to HR Partners and Managers on status of leaves and eligibility.
  • Work closely with our third-party administrator providing any necessary information for claims and ensuring a smooth leave process.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to our Payroll team to ensure employees are paid correctly while on leave.
  • Create premium invoices to collect missed benefit deductions when applicable.
  • Manage all Workers Compensation claims, ADA requests and oversee OSHA filings.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement within internal operations, processes, etc.
  • Maintain deep expertise and specialized knowledge of legal and statutory policies around leaves of absences.
  • Participate in the annual renewal process and strategy. 
  • Assist with the Open Enrollment process including development of materials, communications, system testing and auditing.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field
  • 3+ years leave administration experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Deep attention to detail
  • Experience in UltiPro/UKG and Workday preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, Affordable Health Care Act and federal and state laws regarding benefits (e.g. ERISA, Sec. 125, COBRA etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple critical, time-sensitive projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
