We are seeking a Sr. Director to lead our Product Design team. You are a strategic thinker, team leader, and cross-collaborator with your partnering teams. Someone who sees the patterns in the chaos and knows how to translate those patterns into tools for the design teams. You understand the differences at play in your team and understand how to bring the absolute best out of every one of the designers in a way that respects those differences. 

The Impact You Will Make

  • Frame user-centered problems and business needs in a way that teams can respond to
  • Advocate for the customer in high-level strategic decisions with business, product, engineering, and design leaders
  • Guide teams in the practice of turning nebulous concepts to specific ideas into useful, delightful product features
  • Break down complexities, simplify solutions, and demand a high-quality in everything that you and your teams work on
  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers and constantly drive for perfection
  • Draw insights from the work of our talented research team and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions
  • Partner with product, engineers, and the members of the design and research teams to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch
  • Deeply understand our brand identity and be able to extend into the product without compromising usability
  • Externalize design thinking and storytelling practices with all aspects of the company#LI-KV1

What You Bring to the Table

  • At least 12 years of practical, in-house product or UX design experience with a focus on complex flows and use cases
  • Experience across B2B and B2C platforms and their complexities
  • Partner cross collaboratively with senior product and business leaders including the Executive team on strategy and execution
  • A mature, evolutionary perspective on technology, product, and design practices
  • Experience directly managing teams (5+) creatives/designers
  • Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process
  • An appetite (and the skill) for working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design - from responsive web to native applications to the next technological leap
  • Extensive understanding of prototyping methodologies and practices, user research methodologies and A/B test planning/execution
  • A passion for mentoring executives, product managers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions
  • An acute self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals
  • Excellent communication and data visualization skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and support your decisions with focus and brevity
  • Experience with either front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), or using prototyping tools that approximate them
  • A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”

 

New York Salary Range: $220,500-$303,000

 

The Base Pay component of our Total Rewards package is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: job responsibilities, location, experience and, education/certifications. In addition to the pay component, this role may be eligible for equity and benefits as part of the Total Rewards package. The Total Rewards package will be determined at the time a contingent offer is made.
